Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History – Why Prices are Skyrocketing and Who’s Buying

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is shaping up to have the highest priced tickets ever. To attend this year's Super Bowl, you'll need to have a lot of money to spare as it is expected to be the most expensive one yet.

As of Thursday, the lowest-priced single ticket was listed at $8,000 on the ticket resale website TickPick. This ticket would provide a seat in the upper 300 section, with the website noting that the purchase includes a guaranteed seat.

If the prices remain stable, this year's Super Bowl ticket may become the most expensive one ever sold. The previous record-holder was the 2020 Super Bowl, where the average ticket price was $6,370. The high price that year was largely due to the fact that the home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, were competing. However, this year, the home team is not playing in the Super Bowl.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be the first one ever held in Las Vegas, and experts believe this is causing ticket prices to rise as fans are eager to enjoy a weekend in Sin City and watch the world's largest sporting event.

Just to give you an idea, the average price of a ticket to the inaugural Super Bowl was $12.

The location plays a significant role in attracting 49er fans, as shown by StubHub data indicating that 26 percent of ticket sales come from California. This suggests that fans from California find it easier to make the trip to see their favorite team play. In contrast, ticket sales from Kansas and Missouri combined only account for 7 percent on the site.

Let's also consider the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event could attract a larger number of female fans than usual.

No matter how you manage to enter, Allegiant Stadium's 65,000 seats will be filled to capacity. The start of Super Bowl 58 is scheduled for Sunday, February 11, at 6:30PM Eastern Time.
