In the coming years, CMA Fest may undergo significant changes due to the upcoming construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans. This development will likely alter the familiar experience of the festival.
The festival's main shows have been held at Nissan Stadium for many years, but they will be relocated to a new venue once it is finished.
The Country Music Association has confirmed that they will collaborate with the Tennessee Titans for events during CMA Fest each year. They are excited to host country music fans in Nashville for the nightly concerts at the new stadium.
A new stadium, appropriately named the New Nissan Stadium, is planned to be constructed on the East Bank of the Cumberland River, just east of the current Nissan Stadium. The building process is expected to start this year, and the stadium is projected to open in 2027.
Fans of country music can still get to the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by using the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.
The upcoming stadium for the Titans will be different from their current one as it will be enclosed and designed to provide fans with an exceptional experience. It will offer panoramic views of Nashville, have a translucent roof, and include 12,000 square feet of community space that can be utilized throughout the year.
CMA Fest is a popular event for country music fans that originally started in 1972 as Fan Fair. It began with just 5,000 fans gathering at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium but has since grown into one of the largest annual events in the country music world. Every year, tens of thousands of people from around the world come to Music City to watch over 250 performances on nine different stages.
