The Future of CMA Fest: What to Expect with the New Nissan Stadium

  • by

The upcoming construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans is expected to change the landscape of CMA Fest in the coming years. This means that the current format of the festival may not remain the same for much longer.

For many years, the main shows of the festival have taken place at Nissan Stadium. However, once the new venue is finished, these shows will be relocated there.

The Country Music Association intends to collaborate with the Tennessee Titans annually during CMA Fest and is excited to host country music fans at the new stadium for the nightly concerts in Nashville.

A new stadium, called the New Nissan Stadium, will be constructed on the East Bank of the Cumberland River, east of the current Nissan Stadium. Building is expected to start this year and the new stadium is projected to open in 2027.

Fans of country music can still reach the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by crossing the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.

The Titans' new stadium will be indoors and focused on providing an enhanced fan experience, featuring wide views of Nashville, a see-through roof, and a large community area that can be utilized throughout the year.

CMA Fest, formerly known as Fan Fair, started in 1972 as a way for country music fans to come together in Nashville. It has since grown into a large annual event with over 250 acts performing on nine stages, attracting tens of thousands of guests from around the world.
