Woman Clings to Hood of Moving Car in Daring Rescue of Stolen Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman displayed immense bravery by clinging onto the hood of a moving car in order to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, there was an incident that took place outside a Whole Foods supermarket. During this incident, a woman approached Ali Zacharias, who was the owner of a dog, and forcefully took the pet

The woman picked up the dog, who goes by the name of Onyx, and took him to a white car being operated by another person.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, stating that he was determined to not release his grip on the car and held onto the windshield wipers. Without realizing it, they started driving down the street and gaining speed, causing Zacharias to become terrified for his life.

A video capturing the incident has also gained significant popularity online, displaying Zacharias gripping onto the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News through a TikTok video, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she thought he just wanted to go sniff something so she let go. However, when she looked up, she saw a woman holding her dog and walking away. Determined, she positioned herself in front of the car and firmly declared that they couldn't leave because they had her dog. Instead of stopping, they continued to drive towards her, eventually hitting her and causing her to fall onto the hood of their car. Despite the impact, she refused to give up and insisted that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. The car eventually drove away, leaving her distraught.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save his cute little dog was unsuccessful. He managed to hold on for a short distance, but the car suddenly veered and caused him to be thrown off, resulting in minor injuries such as cuts and bruises. Sadly, Onyx, the dog, is still nowhere to be found.

"No matter what I'm doing, it makes me sad that I can't do it with Onyx or that he's not here to experience it. For instance, while I'm grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I'm not buying anything for him. It feels like time has passed by so fast. It's hard to believe that this happened just recently, and yet it's already been 10 days," she expressed.

As per a report by CBS, the Los Angeles Police Department is currently engaged in an active investigation of the crime, which includes the examination of security footage
