Chris Young has spoken to his fans for the first time since his arrest and subsequent dropping of charges. He mentioned that he is still trying to come to terms with the events of the past week, which included being arrested on assault charges.
The singer of "Young Love & Saturday Nights" went on social media to express gratitude towards friends and fans who supported him during his time in jail on the night of Jan. 22.
Chris Young has been found not guilty of all charges following his arrest at a bar in Nashville.
"It was very important to me and I received a lot of support from friends and fans who reassured me that they believe in me and don't think I did anything wrong," Young expresses in the video.
"It was a relief to see the charges being dropped. Going through something like that is not something I would want anyone to experience. However, what made it a little better was seeing the love and support from others."
The event occurred at a bar called the Dawg House located in the downtown area of Nashville.
Footage from a security camera captures Young behaving calmly before he tries to get the attention of a Tennessee Alcohol Beverage Commission agent by reaching out towards him. The agent responds by pushing Young, causing him to trip and fall backwards into the bar.
Young expresses that he is still trying to come to terms with the false accusations and events of the past week at the beginning of the video. By the end, he shares that the encouragement and support from his fans motivated him to release a new song from his upcoming album ahead of schedule.
The song "Double Down" will be released on Friday, February 2nd, at midnight.
"Turn up the volume, have a good time. I am grateful for you, I care about you, and I appreciate you," Young expresses.
