Chris Young has spoken out to his fans for the first time since being arrested and having charges against him dropped. He shared that he is still trying to make sense of the tumultuous week, which involved him being taken into custody on assault allegations.
The singer of "Young Love & Saturday Nights" went on social media to express gratitude to friends and fans who supported him after he was in jail on the night of January 22nd.
Update: Chris Young has been acquitted of all charges following his arrest at a bar in Nashville.
In the video, Young expresses how much it meant to him to have friends and fans show their support and reassurance by saying they believe in him and don't think he did anything wrong.
"It is a relief to see the charges being dropped. No one should have to experience something like that. However, the positive aspect was the overwhelming love and support that was shown."
The event occurred at the Dawg House located in the heart of Nashville's downtown area.
In the security camera footage, Young appears calm before he tries to signal a Tennessee Alcohol Beverage Commission agent by reaching out his arm. The agent then pushes Young, causing him to fall backwards into the bar.
Young expresses that he is still trying to understand and deal with the false accusations and events that occurred in the previous week. He mentions in the video that the encouragement from his fans motivated him to release a new song from his upcoming album earlier than planned.
The album "Double Down" is set to be released this Friday at midnight.
"Turn up the volume and have a great time. I am grateful for you, I care about you, and I want to thank you," Young expresses.
