The newest release from Acustica Audio improves upon their popular Amber 4 plug-in suite by incorporating their Hyper technology and new Aria engine. Amber 4 Ultra features precise models of Class A equipment such as EQs, a compressor, and a preamp, with upgraded visuals and audio quality.
The suite includes two EQ plug-ins called Amber 4 Ultra and Amber 4 Stereo Ultra. They both have the same set of controls, but the Stereo version has separate controls for each channel. Each EQ has four bands with frequency and gain controls. The low- and high-mid bands have a width parameter, while the low- and high-frequency bands have a control to switch between peak and shelf filter types.
Amber 4 Ultra has a continuous control that allows users to adjust mid, left/right, and side signals, while Amber 4 Stereo Ultra offers separate control over the left/mid and right/side channels. Acustica claims that Amber 4 Ultra is a highly effective, low-noise parametric EQ in the digital realm, and they assure that Amber 4 Stereo Ultra is one of the most musically transparent EQ options they offer.
The Amber 4 Comp Ultra simulates a Class-A opto compressor unit using Hyper technology for a clear dynamics processor. It includes typical compressor settings and extra features like side-chain filtering, stereo linking options, controls for blending mid, left/right, and side signals, and built-in parallel compression.
Amber 4 Pre Ultra includes a variety of emulations of Class A preamp designs, with a total of eight options available. These emulations include both solid-state and valve-based units, each equipped with easy-to-use controls for adjusting input and output levels, as well as Preamp (gain) and Filter (high-pass) settings.
The updated Aira engine enables the plug-ins to display dynamic and real-time meters, and also includes the company's Anti-Aliasing algorithm. Additionally, the new plug-ins have lower CPU usage compared to their older versions.
System Requirements
Amber 4 Ultra can be used on computers with Windows 10 or 11, and on Macs with macOS 10.15 or newer. It is compatible with VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX plug-in formats.
The Amber 4 Ultra can be purchased at the moment for a special price of €89 until February 26, 2024. After this date, the price will increase to €209.
