Kelly Clarkson shared on her talk show that she was diagnosed as pre-diabetic before deciding to lose weight. However, she did not start losing weight right away.
Clarkson shares with her guest, Kevin James, that she was informed she was pre-diabetic. She wasn't surprised by the news, as she admitted to being slightly overweight.
"They told me that I was close to being diabetic, but not quite there yet," she said with a chuckle. "I ignored their warning for two years until I finally decided to take action."
Recently, Clarkson discussed her weight loss, mentioning that she lost weight by following her doctor's advice. She also mentioned that moving to New York City helped her develop healthier habits, both mentally and physically.
She expressed her dissatisfaction with living in Los Angeles and mentioned that she had been feeling unhappy for a while. She felt the need for a new beginning.
Clarkson moved her two children to the West Coast because they were not thriving there. The family likes to stay active by walking around the city and taking their dogs to the park.
She credits her weight loss to her eating habits, mentioning that she consumes a balanced diet most of the time, with a focus on protein which she finds beneficial for her health.
"I come from Texas, so I have a preference for meat – my apologies to all the vegetarians out there!" Clarkson humorously remarked.
The singer made a decision to move and also shifted her TV show to New York after her divorce from Brandon Blackstock was finalized in early 2022.
