During a recent episode of her talk show, the Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly Clarkson shared that she had been diagnosed with pre-diabetes before deciding to lose weight. However, she did not start her weight loss journey right away.
Clarkson shared with her guest, actor Kevin James, that she was informed she was at risk of developing diabetes. She wasn't surprised by the news as she acknowledged she was slightly overweight.
"They told me that I was at risk of developing diabetes, but I didn't take it seriously at first. I waited two years before deciding to take action."
Recently, Clarkson discussed how she lost weight by following her doctor's advice and starting healthier habits when she moved to New York City.
She mentioned that she had been feeling very unhappy in Los Angeles for a few years and felt the need for a new beginning.
Clarkson moved her two children to the West Coast because they were also struggling. The family likes to stay active by taking advantage of the city's walkability and bringing their dogs to the park.
She credits her weight loss to her diet, mentioning that she consumes a balanced and healthy mix of foods. She stated that she follows a protein-heavy diet most of the time because it works well for her.
As someone from Texas, Clarkson humorously mentioned that she enjoys eating meat, apologizing to vegetarians worldwide.
After finalizing her divorce from Brandon Blackstock in early 2022, the singer made the decision to move to New York and relocate her TV show.
