Jennifer Nettles, who is hosting the Fox show, acknowledges that this season the women are displaying more emotional and reactive behavior, which could potentially result in some dramatic moments on the farm.
In the upcoming season of Farmer Wants a Wife, four farmers from different parts of the United States will search for their ideal partners.
The unique aspect of this situation is that every farmer will choose five women from a group of 29 to move in with them on their farm. This experience will allow the women to fully understand the responsibilities of being a farmer's wife.
Get to know the farmers appearing on Season 2 of Farmer Wants a Wife:
Ty Ferrell, 42, likes to identify himself as a cowboy rather than a farmer, as his main role is a "team roper". He runs a 50-acre farm in Sikeston, Missouri, where he raises horses and cattle. His passion for roping and riding started at a young age and has stayed with him throughout his life. Ferrell, who is one of the older farmers featured on the show, is a divorced father with a 12-year-old daughter. He is searching for a partner who can not only be his companion but also a caring mother figure for his child.
At 27 years old, Mitchell Kolinsky is a farmer in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and the first in his family to pursue this profession. His farm is home to various animals and a historic cabin from the 1800s, where he resides with his three dogs. Kolinsky's upbringing included horses and a love for the outdoors, which inspired him to enter the farming industry. He is now the proud owner of a farm with both horses and cattle.
Brandon Rogers, who is 29 years old, manages a large farm in Center, Colorado that grows potatoes and barley on 1,000 acres of land. The town he resides in is small with only one traffic light, and it is surrounded by farmland. Coming from a family of farmers, Rogers grew up helping his father on the farm and is now carrying on the family tradition by running the business. He aspires to uphold the legacy that his father started.
Nathan Smothers, a 23-year-old farmer from Bartow, Florida, comes from a long line of farmers who have been involved in citrus and cattle farming for four generations. He manages a large property with 300 acres of farmland and over 500 acres dedicated to cattle. Despite his young age, Smothers has shown maturity and responsibility, especially after the passing of his father when he was just 12 years old. Since then, he has taken on the role of helping to care for his mother and three sisters.
The second season of Farmer Wants a Wife will debut on Fox on Thursday, February 1st at 9PM ET.
