Sugar Ray Singer Confirms Kid Rock Did “Get More Ass” Than Mark McGrath: The Truth Behind the Lyrics

  • by

Lead singer of Sugar Ray confirms that Kid Rock's lyrics were accurate when he claimed to "get more ass" than Mark McGrath.

The lyrics in question are from Kid Rock's song "Cocky" released in 2001 on his album of the same name. In the stanza, Kid Rock asserts his identity and brags about his wealth and success compared to other musicians.

How was this question, which has been around for over twenty years, finally resolved? It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media, "Did Kid Rock really have more romantic success than Mark McGrath?"

Shortly after, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument, and he also mentioned the Sugar Ray vocalist in his post.

Soon after, McGrath responded to the question with a sense of humor. He confirmed that the person did indeed rhyme "ass" with "McGrath," and added that he appreciated the creativity. McGrath's response was shared through X (formerly Twitter).
