The lead singer of Sugar Ray has confirmed that Kid Rock's lyrics about "getting more ass" than Mark McGrath were true.
The lyrics in question were taken from Rock's song "Cocky" from his album with the same title, released in 2001. In this stanza, the lyrics mention Kid Rock identifying himself as a prominent figure from the old school, boasting about having more money than the band Matchbox Twenty and getting more attention from women than musician Mark McGrath.
The question that had been unanswered for over twenty years was finally addressed. It all began when Rock Feed took to social media to ask the question, "Did Kid Rock really have more romantic encounters than Mark McGrath?"
Shortly after that, Finn McKenty, a well-known YouTuber, proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument. McKenty also tagged the lead singer of Sugar Ray in his suggestion.
McGrath responded to the question in a good-natured manner, confirming that the person did indeed rhyme "ass" with McGrath. This clarification was shared by the singer through the platform X (formerly known as Twitter).

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's claim. It would be interesting to see how their financial success compares, considering both bands have been popular for four decades.
