The lead singer of Sugar Ray confirmed that Kid Rock's lyrics about getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath were accurate.
The lyrics in question were taken from Rock's song "Cocky" from his album with the same title released in 2001. In that particular part of the song, the lyrics mention Rock introducing himself as Kid Rock from the old school, boasting about having more money than Matchbox Twenty and getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath.
How was the question that has been around for over 20 years finally answered? It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media whether Kid Rock really had more romantic encounters than Mark McGrath.
Shortly after that, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument, and he also mentioned the singer from Sugar Ray in his post.
McGrath responded to the question in a light-hearted manner, confirming that the person did indeed rhyme "ass" with his last name. He addressed the issue through X (formerly Twitter) and added some humor to clear up any confusion.

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's claim. It would be interesting to compare the financial success of both bands, considering they have both been successful in four different decades.
