Lead singer of Sugar Ray confirms that Kid Rock's lyrics about "getting more ass" than Mark McGrath were accurate.
The lyrics were taken from a song called "Cocky" by Rock in 2001, which was part of his album with the same title. In one part of the song, the lyrics mention Rock introducing himself as "Kid Motherfuckin' Rock from the old school" and boasting about having more money than the band Matchbox Twenty and getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath.

Shortly after this, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument. McKenty also mentioned the singer from Sugar Ray by tagging him in the post.
McGrath responded to the question with a sense of humor, confirming that the reference was indeed accurate and even giving credit for rhyming "ass" with his name. This response was shared by the singer on X (formerly Twitter).
