The lead singer of Sugar Ray confirmed that Kid Rock's lyrics about getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath were accurate.
The lyrics in question were taken from a song called "Cocky" by Rock from his album with the same title released in 2001. In the stanza, the lyrics mention his identity as Kid Rock from the old school, boasting about having more money than Matchbox Twenty and getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath.
The question that had been unanswered for over twenty years was finally resolved. It all began when Rock Feed took to social media to ask the question, "Did Kid Rock really have more romantic success than Mark McGrath?"
Shortly after, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument, and he also mentioned the Sugar Ray vocalist in his post.
McGrath responded to the question with a good sense of humor and confirmed that the person in question did indeed rhyme "ass" with McGrath. This clarification was made by the singer through X (formerly known as Twitter).

Just to clarify, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's boast. It would be intriguing to compare the financial success of both bands, considering they have both been successful in four different decades.
