The lead singer of Sugar Ray has confirmed that Kid Rock's lyrics about getting more attention than Mark McGrath were accurate.
The lyrics in question are from a song called "Cocky" by Rock, which was released in 2001 on his album with the same title. In the stanza, Rock talks about his identity as Kid Rock and how he believes he has more money and gets more attention from women than other musicians like Matchbox Twenty and Mark McGrath.
How was a solution found to this question that has been around for over twenty years? It all began with Rock Feed asking on social media, "Did Kid Rock really have more romantic encounters than Mark McGrath?"
Shortly after, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument, and he also mentioned the Sugar Ray vocalist in his post.
McGrath quickly responded to the question with a sense of humor, confirming that the person did indeed rhyme "ass" with his name. He made light of the situation and clarified any confusion through X (formerly known as Twitter).

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's statement. It would be intriguing to compare the financial success of both bands, considering they have been popular for four decades.
