Sugar Ray Singer Confirms Kid Rock’s Truthful Lyrics: Did Kid Rock Really “Get More Ass” Than Mark McGrath?

  • by

The lead singer of Sugar Ray has confirmed that Kid Rock's lyrics about getting more attention than Mark McGrath were accurate.

The words were taken from a song called "Cocky" by Rock in 2001, which is part of his album with the same title. The specific lines in question are: "Do you even know who I am? I am Kid Rock from the traditional school. I have more money than Matchbox Twenty and I get more attention from women than Mark McGrath."

The question that had been unanswered for over twenty years was finally addressed when Rock Feed asked on social media if Kid Rock had really gotten more attention from women than Mark McGrath.

Shortly thereafter, Finn McKenty, a well-known YouTuber, proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument. McKenty also mentioned McGrath by tagging him in the post.

McGrath responded to the question in a lighthearted manner, confirming that he did indeed rhyme "ass" with his name. The singer added that he appreciated the clever rhyme and hoped that this cleared up any confusion. McGrath's response was shared through the social media platform X.

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's challenge. It would be intriguing to see a comparison of their financial success, considering both bands have been active for four decades.
