Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History and What’s Driving the Price Up

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is expected to have the highest ticket prices ever seen in the game's history. Only those willing to pay a premium will be able to attend this year's Super Bowl.

As of Thursday, the most affordable single ticket available was priced at $8,000 on the ticket resale platform TickPick. This ticket would provide you with a seat in the upper 300 section, although the site does ensure that a seat is secured for that price.

If the current prices remain stable, this year's Super Bowl ticket could become the most costly one ever. The most expensive Super Bowl ticket so far was for the 2020 game, with an average price of $6,370. One of the main reasons for the high price that year was that the home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, were participating in the game. However, that is not the case for this year's Super Bowl.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be the first one ever to take place in Las Vegas, and experts believe that this unique location is causing ticket prices to rise. Fans are excited at the opportunity to spend a weekend in Sin City and top it off with the world's biggest sporting event.

In case you were curious, the average cost of a ticket to the inaugural Super Bowl was $12.

The location plays a significant role in attracting 49er fans, as shown by StubHub data indicating that 26 percent of ticket sales come from California. Fans prefer to make the shorter journey to see their favorite team play. In contrast, Kansas and Missouri account for only 7 percent of ticket sales on the website.

Let's also consider the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event could attract a larger number of female fans than usual.

Regardless of how you enter, Allegiant Stadium, with a capacity of 65,000 seats, will be full to capacity. Super Bowl 58 is scheduled to start on Sunday, February 11, at 6:30PM ET.
