Exploring Acustica Audio’s Latest Release: The Amber 4 Ultra Plug-in Suite with Enhanced Features and Improved Performance

  • by

You have arrived at the Amber 4 Ultra plug-in suite created by Acustica Audio.

The newest release from Acustica Audio utilizes their Hyper technology and updated Aria engine to offer an improved version of their well-known Amber 4 plug-in suite. Amber 4 Ultra features accurate models of Class A equipment, including two EQs, a compressor, and a preamp, all with enhanced visuals and better audio quality.

The suite includes two EQ plug-ins called Amber 4 Ultra and Amber 4 Stereo Ultra. Each plug-in has the same controls, but the Stereo version has a separate set for each channel. Both have four bands with controls for frequency and gain. The low- and high-mid bands have a width parameter, and the low- and high-frequency bands have a control to switch between peak and shelf filter types.

Amber 4 Ultra has a continuous control feature that allows users to adjust mid, left/right, and side signals individually. On the other hand, Amber 4 Stereo Ultra gives users control over the left/mid and right/side channels separately. According to Acustica, the former is one of the most powerful parametric EQs with low noise in the digital realm, while the latter is considered one of the most transparent EQ options in their collection.

The Amber 4 Comp Ultra simulates a Class-A opto compressor using Hyper technology to provide a clear dynamics processor. It includes typical compressor controls as well as features like side-chain filtering, adjustable stereo linking, a control for blending mid, left/right, and side signals, and built-in parallel compression.

The Amber 4 Pre Ultra offers a variety of Class A preamp designs, with a total of eight emulations available. These emulations include both solid-state and valve-based units, each featuring easy-to-use controls for input and output levels, as well as adjustments for Preamp (gain) and Filter (high-pass).

With the introduction of the Aira engine, all the plug-ins now have the ability to show dynamic and real-time metering displays. They also include the company's Anti-Aliasing algorithm and have lower CPU usage than the older versions.

Amber 4 Ultra is compatible with computers that have Windows 10 or 11, and Mac computers with macOS 10.15 or newer. It can be used as a VST2, VST3, AU, or AAX plug-in.

The Amber 4 Ultra is currently on the market and can be purchased for a special price of €89 until February 26, 2024. After this date, the price will increase to €209.
