Exploring the Enhanced Amber 4 Ultra Plug-in Suite from Acustica Audio: A Closer Look at the EQ, Compressor, and Preamp Features

  • by

You have arrived at the page for the Amber 4 Ultra plug-in suite created by Acustica Audio.

The newest release from Acustica Audio features their Hyper technology and Aria engine to improve their well-known Amber 4 plug-in suite. Amber 4 Ultra offers accurate models of Class A equipment such as EQs, compressor, and preamp, with upgraded visuals and better audio quality.

The suite includes two EQ plug-ins called Amber 4 Ultra and Amber 4 Stereo Ultra. Each plug-in has the same controls, but the Stereo version has separate controls for each channel. Both plug-ins have four bands with frequency and gain controls. The low- and high-mid bands have a width parameter, and the low- and high-frequency bands have a control to switch between peak and shelf filter types.

The Amber 4 Ultra plugin allows for precise control over mid, left/right, and side signals, while the Amber 4 Stereo Ultra plugin offers separate control over the left/mid and right/side channels. Acustica claims that the Amber 4 Ultra is a high-quality parametric EQ with minimal noise, and the Amber 4 Stereo Ultra is a transparent EQ option with musical qualities.

The Amber 4 Comp Ultra emulates a Class-A opto compressor unit using Hyper technology to provide a clear dynamics processor. It includes typical compressor parameters, as well as features like side-chain filtering, adjustable stereo linking, a blend control for mid, left/right, and side signals, and built-in parallel compression.

Amber 4 Pre Ultra includes a collection of eight emulations of Class A preamp designs, featuring both solid-state and valve-based units. Each unit comes with easy-to-use controls for input and output levels, as well as preamp (gain) and filter (high-pass) settings.

The plug-ins now have dynamic and real-time metering displays thanks to the new Aira engine. They also include the company's Anti-Aliasing algorithm and use less CPU compared to before.

System Requirements

To run Amber 4 Ultra, you will need a PC with Windows 10 or 11, or a Mac with macOS 10.15 or newer. The plug-in versions available are VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX.

The Amber 4 Ultra is currently on sale for €89 as an introductory offer until February 26, 2024, after which the price will increase to €209. This product is available for purchase now.
