You have arrived at the Amber 4 Ultra plug-in suite by Acustica Audio.
Acustica Audio's newest release utilizes their Hyper technology and updated Aria engine to offer an improved version of their well-liked Amber 4 plug-in bundle. Amber 4 Ultra features accurate representations of Class A equipment such as two EQs, a compressor, and preamp, all with upgraded visuals and better audio quality.
The suite includes two EQ plug-ins called Amber 4 Ultra and Amber 4 Stereo Ultra. Both have the same controls, but the Stereo version has a separate set for each channel. Each EQ has four bands with frequency and gain controls. The low- and high-mid bands have a width parameter, while the low- and high-frequency bands have a control to switch between peak and shelf filter types.
Amber 4 Ultra offers a control system that allows users to adjust mid, left/right, and side signals simultaneously, while Amber4 Stereo Ultra allows for separate control over the left/mid and right/side channels. Acustica claims that the former is a highly effective parametric EQ with very little noise in the digital realm, and they assure that the latter is one of the most transparent EQ options in their range in terms of musical quality.
The Amber 4 Comp Ultra simulates a Class-A opto compressor device using Hyper technology to provide a clear dynamics processor. It includes typical compressor settings as well as features like side-chain filtering, adjustable stereo linking, controls for blending mid, left/right, and side signals, and built-in parallel compression.
Amber 4 Pre Ultra completes the collection with a variety of eight emulations of Class A preamp designs, including both solid-state and valve-based units. These units have basic controls like input and output levels, as well as Preamp (gain) and Filter (high-pass) adjustments.
The updated Aira engine now allows all of the plug-ins to have dynamic and real-time metering displays, as well as the company's Anti-Aliasing algorithm. Additionally, the new plug-ins have lower CPU usage than the previous versions.
Amber 4 Ultra can be used on computers with Windows 10 or 11, and Mac computers with macOS 10.15 or newer. It is compatible with VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX plug-in formats.
The Amber 4 Ultra is currently on sale for €89 until February 26, 2024, after which its price will increase to €209. It is currently available for purchase.
