Exploring the Enhanced Audio Performance of Acustica Audio’s Amber 4 Ultra Plug-in Suite with Hyper Technology and Aria Engine

  • by

You have arrived at the Amber 4 Ultra plug-in suite by Acustica Audio.

Acustica Audio has released their latest product, Amber 4 Ultra, which utilizes their Hyper technology and new Aria engine to offer an upgraded version of their well-known Amber 4 plug-in suite. This new release includes accurate models of Class A equipment such as EQs, a compressor, and a preamp. The plug-in suite features improved graphics and audio performance.

The suite includes two EQ plug-ins, Amber 4 Ultra and Amber 4 Stereo Ultra, each with a matching set of controls. The Stereo version has independent controls for each channel. Both plug-ins have four bands with frequency and gain controls. The low- and high-mid bands have a width parameter, and the low- and high-frequency bands have a control to switch between peak and shelf filter types.

Amber 4 Ultra has a continuous control function that allows for precise adjustment of mid, left/right, and side signals. On the other hand, Amber 4 Stereo Ultra offers separate control over the left/mid and right/side channels. According to Acustica, the first EQ is highly effective and low-noise in the digital realm, while the second EQ is known for its musical transparency and is a top choice in their collection.

The Amber 4 Comp Ultra is a compressor and preamp that emulates a Class-A opto compressor using Hyper technology to provide a clear dynamics processor. It has typical compressor settings, as well as extras like side-chain filtering, stereo linking options, controls for blending mid, left/right, and side signals, and a built-in parallel compression feature.

The Amber 4 Pre Ultra offers a variety of Class A preamp designs, including both solid-state and valve-based units. There are eight emulations in total, each featuring a user-friendly interface with controls for input and output levels, Preamp (gain), and Filter (high-pass) settings.

With the introduction of the new Aira engine, all of the plug-ins now have the ability to display dynamic and real-time meters, in addition to using the company's Anti-Aliasing algorithm. They also consume less CPU compared to previous versions.

System Requirements

Amber 4 Ultra is compatible with computers running Windows 10 or 11, as well as Mac computers running macOS 10.15 or newer. It is available in VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX plug-in formats.
