Exploring the Enhanced Audio Performance of Acustica Audio’s Amber 4 Ultra Plug-in Suite with Hyper Technology and Aria Engine

  • by

You are currently viewing the Amber 4 Ultra plug-in suite created by Acustica Audio.

The newest release from Acustica Audio utilizes their Hyper technology and new Aria engine to offer an upgraded version of their well-liked Amber 4 plug-in suite. Amber 4 Ultra features accurate models of Class A equipment, including two EQs, a compressor, and preamp, all of which have improved graphics and audio quality.

The suite includes two EQ plug-ins named Amber 4 Ultra and Amber 4 Stereo Ultra. Both plug-ins have the same controls, with the Stereo version having separate controls for each channel. Each plug-in has four bands with frequency and gain controls. The low- and high-mid bands have a width parameter, while the low- and high-frequency bands have a control to switch between peak and shelf filter types.

Amber 4 Ultra has a continuous control option that allows users to target mid, left/right, and side signals. On the other hand, Amber4 Stereo Ultra provides separate control over the left/mid and right/side channels. Acustica claims that the former is a highly powerful parametric EQ with low noise in the digital realm, while the latter is one of the most musically transparent EQ choices in their lineup.

The Amber 4 Comp Ultra is a compressor and preamp that emulates a Class-A opto compressor using Hyper technology for a clear dynamics processing. It includes standard compressor parameters as well as features like side-chain filtering, variable stereo linking, control over mid, left/right, and side signals blending, and built-in parallel compression.

The Amber 4 Pre Ultra offers a wide range of Class A preamp emulations, with a total of eight designs available. These emulations include both solid-state and valve-based units, each featuring easy-to-use controls for input and output levels, as well as adjustments for Preamp gain and Filter high-pass settings.

The updated Aira engine allows each plug-in to have dynamic and real-time metering displays, as well as the company's Anti-Aliasing algorithm. These new features also result in lower CPU usage compared to the older versions of the plug-ins.

Amber 4 Ultra is compatible with computers running Windows 10 or 11, and Mac computers running macOS 10.15 and newer. Users can access VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX plug-in versions.

The Amber 4 Ultra is currently on the market and can be purchased for an initial price of €89 until February 26, 2024. After this date, the price will increase to €209.
