Exploring the Enhanced Features of Acustica Audio’s Amber 4 Ultra Plug-In Suite

  • by

You have arrived at the page for the Amber 4 Ultra plug-in suite created by Acustica Audio.

The newest release from Acustica Audio features their Hyper technology and updated Aria engine to offer an improved version of their well-known Amber 4 plug-in suite. Amber 4 Ultra includes accurate models of Class A equipment such as two EQs, a compressor, and a preamp. These models have upgraded graphics and better audio quality.

The EQ suite includes two plug-ins called Amber 4 Ultra and Amber 4 Stereo Ultra. They both have the same controls, but the Stereo variant has separate controls for each channel. Each plug-in has four bands with frequency and gain controls. The low- and high-mid bands have a width parameter, while the low- and high-frequency bands have a control to switch between peak and shelf filter types.

Amber 4 Ultra offers a continuous control feature that allows users to adjust mid, left/right, and side signals. On the other hand, Amber4 Stereo Ultra provides separate control over the left/mid and right/side channels. According to Acustica, the former is one of the most powerful parametric EQs with low noise in the digital realm, while the latter is one of the most transparent EQ options in their collection in terms of musical quality.

The Amber 4 Comp Ultra emulates a Class-A opto compressor using Hyper technology for a clear dynamics processor. It includes typical compressor settings, as well as extra features like side-chain filtering, stereo linking options, and controls for blending mid, left/right, and side signals. Additionally, it has built-in parallel compression.

The Amber 4 Pre Ultra offers a variety of Class A preamp designs, with a total of eight emulations available. These emulations include both solid-state and valve-based units, each with a user-friendly set of controls for input and output levels, as well as Preamp (gain) and Filter (high-pass) options.

With the introduction of the new Aira engine, all the plug-ins now have the capability to show dynamic and real-time metering displays, along with incorporating the company's Anti-Aliasing algorithm. Additionally, they have lower CPU usage than the previous versions.

Amber 4 Ultra is compatible with computers using Windows 10 or 11, and Mac computers using macOS 10.15 or newer. It offers versions of VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX plug-ins.

Availability and Cost

The Amber 4 Ultra is currently available for purchase at an introductory price of €89 until February 26, 2024. After this date, the price will increase to €209.
