The newest release from Acustica Audio utilizes their advanced Hyper technology and updated Aria engine to offer an improved version of their well-known Amber 4 plug-in suite. Amber 4 Ultra features accurate representations of Class A equipment such as EQs, a compressor, and a preamp, all with upgraded visual design and better sound quality.
Two EQ plug-ins, Amber 4 Ultra and Amber 4 Stereo Ultra, are included in the suite. Each plug-in has a set of controls, with the Stereo version having separate controls for each channel. There are four bands in each plug-in, each with frequency and gain controls. The low- and high-mid bands have a width parameter, while the low- and high-frequency bands have a control that allows for switching between peak and shelf filter types.
The Amber 4 Ultra has a continuous control feature that allows users to target mid, left/right, and side signals. On the other hand, the Amber 4 Stereo Ultra provides individual control over the left/mid and right/side channels. Acustica claims that the Amber 4 Ultra is one of the most powerful parametric EQs with low noise in the digital realm, while the Amber 4 Stereo Ultra is one of the most musically transparent EQ options in their lineup.
The Amber 4 Comp Ultra emulates a Class-A opto compressor using Hyper technology to create a transparent dynamics processor. It includes standard compressor parameters, as well as features like side-chain filtering, stereo linking options, and controls for blending mid, left/right, and side signals. Additionally, it has built-in parallel compression for added versatility.
The Amber 4 Pre Ultra concludes the collection with a total of eight emulations of Class A preamp designs, including both solid-state and valve-based models. Each preamp has basic controls for input and output levels, as well as options for adjusting the gain and high-pass filter.
With the introduction of the new Aira engine, all the plug-ins now have the ability to show dynamic and real-time metering displays. They also include the company's Anti-Aliasing algorithm and have lower CPU usage than the older versions.

Amber 4 Ultra is compatible with computers running Windows 10 or 11, and Mac computers running macOS 10.15 and newer. It offers plug-in versions in VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats.
