Jason Isbell performed a guitar solo of the song "Wanted Dead or Alive" at a tribute event for Jon Bon Jovi.
Joseph Hudak observed that just by looking at Jason Isbell's outline, one could easily guess which song he was going to play at the MusiCares event honoring Jon Bon Jovi in Los Angeles. Isbell was wearing a wide-brimmed hat, a long duster coat, and carrying a double-neck guitar, all of which hinted that he would be performing "Wanted Dead or Alive."
Isbell confirmed on Instagram that it was clear which Bon Jovi song he covered just by looking at a certain picture on Saturday.

Although Isbell may have looked more like Richie Sambora than JBJ, he performed well by immersing himself in the lyrics about seeing many faces and rocking out without any irony. Isbell is known for his impressive singing abilities, but it was his guitar solo in his rendition of "Dead or Alive" that really made it an epic throwback to the Eighties.
Jon Bon Jovi was honored with the MusiCares Person of the Year award, joining a prestigious list of past recipients such as Joni Mitchell, Lionel Richie, Dolly Parton, and Bruce Springsteen. Despite recently losing his mother, Springsteen also attended the event. Both Springsteen and Bon Jovi performed together on stage, singing Bon Jovi's country hit "Who Says You Can't Go Home" and Springsteen's "The Promised Land."
