View Jason Isbell's impressive performance of 'Wanted Dead or Alive' at a tribute event honoring Jon Bon Jovi. This performance was captured by Joseph Hudak.
Joseph Hudak observed Jason Isbell's appearance and could easily predict that he was going to perform "Wanted Dead or Alive" at the MusiCares tribute to Jon Bon Jovi in Los Angeles. Isbell was wearing a wide-brimmed hat and a long duster coat, and was holding a double-neck guitar, giving away the song he was about to play.
Isbell confirmed on Instagram that it was easy to tell which Bon Jovi song he covered just by looking at the picture he posted.

Isbell's performance may have had a similar style to Richie Sambora rather than JBJ, but he impressed the audience by passionately singing lyrics about facing countless challenges and rocking out without any insincerity. While Isbell's vocal abilities are impressive, it was his electrifying guitar solo during "Dead or Alive" that truly stood out and gave the performance an epic Eighties vibe.
Jon Bon Jovi was honored as the MusiCares Person of the Year, joining previous recipients such as Joni Mitchell, Lionel Richie, Dolly Parton, and Bruce Springsteen. Despite recently losing his mother, Springsteen, also a New Jersey icon, attended the event. Bon Jovi and Springsteen performed together on stage, singing Bon Jovi’s country hit “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” and Springsteen’s “The Promised Land.”
