At the MusiCares tribute to Jon Bon Jovi in Los Angeles, Jason Isbell's silhouette gave away the song he was going to perform. He was wearing a big hat and a long coat, and holding a double-neck guitar, making it obvious that he would be playing "Wanted Dead or Alive."
Isbell recognized and admitted on Instagram that it's easy to guess which Bon Jovi song he covered just by looking at a picture he posted.

Although Isbell may have looked more like Richie Sambora than Jon Bon Jovi, he gave a great performance, immersing himself in the lyrics about seeing many faces and rocking out without any irony. While Isbell is known for his singing ability, it was his impressive guitar solo that really made his rendition of "Dead or Alive" feel like a throwback to the 1980s.
Jon Bon Jovi was honored as the MusiCares Person of the Year, joining previous recipients such as Joni Mitchell, Lionel Richie, Dolly Parton, and Bruce Springsteen. Despite mourning the recent loss of his mother, Springsteen, another iconic figure from New Jersey, was also present at the event. Both musicians took the stage together, performing a mix of Bon Jovi's hit "Who Says You Can't Go Home" and Springsteen's "The Promised Land."
