See Jason Isbell perform a high-energy version of 'Wanted Dead or Alive' at a tribute concert for Jon Bon Jovi.

At the MusiCares tribute event for Jon Bon Jovi in Los Angeles, it was easy to tell which song Jason Isbell was going to perform just by looking at his silhouette. He was wearing a big hat and a long coat, and holding a double-neck guitar, giving away that he was going to play "Wanted Dead or Alive."

Isbell confirmed on his Instagram account on Saturday that it's easy to figure out which Bon Jovi song he covered just by looking at the picture he posted.

Although Isbell may have looked more like Richie Sambora than JBJ, he gave a great performance, putting his all into singing lyrics about encountering many people and rocking out without any sense of insincerity. While Isbell is known for his vocal talents, it was his impressive guitar solo during his rendition of "Dead or Alive" that really stood out as a nostalgic throwback to the 1980s.

Jon Bon Jovi received the MusiCares Person of the Year award, joining previous recipients such as Joni Mitchell, Lionel Richie, Dolly Parton, and Bruce Springsteen. Despite recently losing his mother, Springsteen attended the event and even performed with Bon Jovi on stage. They sang Bon Jovi's song "Who Says You Can't Go Home" and Springsteen's "The Promised Land."

During a speech, Bon Jovi thanked Bruce Springsteen for being his hero, friend, and mentor. He mentioned that Springsteen's mother had passed away recently, but Springsteen still made an effort to be present at the event to support him.

Isbell is nominated for three Grammy awards on Sunday night. The categories he is nominated for are Best Americana Performance, Best American Roots Song, and Best Americana Album for his most recent album, Weathervanes.
