Brown has been selected to receive the 2024 CRS Artist Humanitarian Award, which is given each year to artists who prioritize giving back to their communities as a significant aspect of their work.
He will be celebrated at CRS Honors, an event happening on February 29th in Nashville as a part of the Country Radio Seminar for this year.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of America is dedicated to offering children from all backgrounds, particularly those facing economic challenges, a chance to be part of a supportive community. Brown, who experienced homelessness, racism, and abuse during his childhood, expressed a desire for the safe and nurturing environment that the organization aims to create for young people.
Aside from donating money, which was used to renovate a gym in northeast Ohio in 2022, Brown has also given children special opportunities. He gave tickets and backstage access to 16 kids and 4 adults from a local chapter, and even shared his own story with them over dinner. Additionally, he has been involved in rebuilding a chapter in his hometown of Chatanooga, Tenn.
The country singer has been recognized for his efforts with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in the past. In 2022, he was honored as the organization's "Champion of Youth" for his work.
Past recipients of the CRS Artist Humanitarian Award include Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill, among others. Tracy Lawrence was the winner of the award last year.
