Brown has been selected to receive the 2024 CRS Artist Humanitarian Award, which is given each year to artists who prioritize giving back and making a positive impact through their work.
He will be celebrated at CRS Honors, an event happening on February 29 in Nashville as a part of this year's Country Radio Seminar.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of America aims to offer a supportive and welcoming environment for children from all backgrounds, with a focus on those facing economic challenges. Brown, who experienced homelessness, racism, and abuse during his childhood, expressed a desire for the kind of safe space that the organization strives to create for young people.
Aside from donating money for projects such as renovating a gym in northeast Ohio in 2022, Brown has also given children unique experiences. He gave tickets and backstage passes to 16 children and 4 adults from a local organization, treating them to dinner while sharing his personal story. Additionally, he has been involved in revitalizing a chapter in his hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The country singer's efforts with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America have been recognized in the past. In 2022, he was honored as the organization's "Champion of Youth" for that year.
Past recipients of the CRS Artist Humanitarian Award include Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and others. Tracy Lawrence was the recipient of the award last year.
