During a recent episode of her talk show, the Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly Clarkson shared that she was told she was at risk for developing diabetes before she decided to make changes to her lifestyle and lose weight.
Clarkson revealed that she was informed she was at risk for developing diabetes because of her weight. She discussed this with her guest, Kevin James, on her show. Clarkson admitted she wasn't surprised by the news, as she acknowledged being slightly overweight.
"They told me that I was pre-diabetic, meaning I was close to being diabetic. At first, I didn't take it seriously and thought I wasn't there yet," she explains with a chuckle. "After two years, I finally decided to take action and address the issue."
At the beginning of the month, Clarkson discussed her weight loss and mentioned that she lost weight by following her doctor's advice. She also mentioned that moving to New York City helped her develop healthier habits for both her mind and body.
She mentioned that she had been feeling very unhappy in Los Angeles for a few years and felt the need for a new beginning.
Clarkson moved her two children to the West Coast because they were not thriving there. The family enjoys being active by walking around the city and taking their dogs to the park.
She credits her weight loss to her diet, saying that she eats a balanced and healthy mix of foods. She mentioned that she sticks to a protein-rich diet most of the time because it is beneficial for her.
"I come from Texas, so I have a preference for meat – my apologies to all the vegetarians out there!" Clarkson playfully said.
After her divorce from Brandon Blackstock was finalized in early 2022, the singer made the decision to move and also relocated her TV show to New York.
