Walmart is planning to expand by adding more large stores and installing electric vehicle charging stations. They have a strong strategy to grow their store presence and improve existing locations.

According to CNBC, the company plans to either construct new or transform existing "large-format" stores in over 150 locations throughout the United States within the next five years. The Associated Press noted that Walmart has not opened any new stores within the last three years.

Walmart announced that they will be implementing their "Store of the Future" concept in certain locations, which will include more interactive displays and QR codes for customers to scan for more information about products. Before this announcement, Walmart was already in the process of remodeling 650 more locations to include this concept.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Walmart president and CEO John Furner highlighted the significant investment in labor, supplies, and tax revenue made by the company, which ultimately benefits the communities in which they operate.

CNBC reported that the company chose not to disclose the expenses associated with the stores.

Walmart has revealed that their new stores will prioritize sustainability in their design. These locations will feature energy-efficient lighting and equipment to promote environmental responsibility.

Apart from focusing on sustainability inside their stores, Walmart is also planning to make changes to their parking lot. They announced intentions to install fast-charging stations for electric cars.

Walmart is planning to create a network of electric vehicle fast-charging stations across the country to make it easier and more affordable for Walmart customers and employees to own an electric vehicle. This initiative aims to increase the convenience and accessibility of electric vehicle ownership.

According to CNBC, Walmart has over 4,600 stores in the United States and has a workforce of almost 1.6 million employees.
