Sennheiser has officially introduced the HD 490 PRO

Sennheiser has introduced the HD 490 PRO headphones, which they say provide excellent clarity, comfort, and reliability. These headphones have been designed specifically to meet the needs of contemporary music production.

The HD 490 PRO series guarantees a natural and accurate sound reproduction without any added coloration, covering the full audio range from 5Hz to 36.1kHz (-10dB). It comes with two sets of ear pads, created for producing and mixing music. This helps prevent ear strain and enables precise frequency identification during critical listening tasks.

The HD 490 PRO headphones feature an open-back design and are equipped with neodymium magnets and Sennheiser's unique low-frequency cylinder system. This combination is said to provide a rich, precise, and well-defined bass sound, allowing for the accurate capture of low frequencies.

Sennheiser created these headphones to provide a comfortable and lightweight experience, ensuring that they are perfect for long studio sessions. The HD 490 PRO series utilizes Sennheiser's Open-frame Architecture to decrease unwanted sound effects and distortion.

The headphones come with a plug-in called Dear Reality dearVR MIX-SE, which uses spatial audio technology to create a virtual mixing environment that replicates the sound characteristics of different real-life mix studios and locations when using headphone monitors.

The HD 490 PRO Plus version comes with a longer 3m cable, an extra headband pad, and a carrying case.

There are two options in the HD 490 PRO series – HD 490 PRO and HD 490 PRO Plus. Both versions come with the HD 490 PRO headphones, a 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm adapter, a 1.8 m cable, mixing and producing ear pads. The HD 490 PRO Plus also includes an extra headband pad, a 3 m cable, and a case.

The Sennheiser HD 490 PRO headphones can be purchased at this time, with the PRO version priced at $399£349 and the PRO Plus version priced at $479£399.
