Sennheiser has revealed the release of their new HD
Sennheiser recently launched the HD 490 PRO headphones, which they say provide excellent sound quality, comfort, and durability. These headphones were designed to meet the needs of today's music producers.
The HD 490 PRO series guarantees a natural and accurate sound reproduction without any added coloration, covering a wide range of frequencies from 5Hz to 36.1kHz (-10dB). These headphones come with two sets of ear pads that are tailored for producing and mixing music. This design helps reduce ear fatigue and enables precise identification of frequencies during critical listening tasks.
The HD 490 PRO headphones have an open-back design that includes neodymium magnets and Sennheiser's unique low-frequency cylinder system. This design is meant to provide a clear and precise low end sound, allowing for accurate capture of low frequencies.
Sennheiser created these headphones with a focus on comfort by getting rid of pressure points and providing a lightweight design. This makes them ideal for long studio sessions. The HD 490 PRO series uses Sennheiser's Open-frame Architecture to decrease resonance and lower total harmonic distortion (THD).
The headphones come with a plug-in called Dear Reality dearVR MIX-SE that utilizes spatial audio technology to create a virtual mixing space. This space mimics the sound characteristics of different real mix studios and locations when using headphone monitors.
The HD 490 PRO Plus model comes with a longer 3m cable, an extra headband pad, and a carrying case as added bonuses.
There are two versions of the HD 490 PRO series – the HD 490 PRO and the HD 490 PRO Plus. Both options come with the HD 490 PRO headphones, a 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm adapter, a 1.8 m cable, mixing and producing ear pads. The HD 490 PRO Plus also includes an extra headband pad, a 3 m cable, and a case.
The Sennheiser HD 490 PRO headphones can be purchased at the moment, with the PRO version priced at $399£349 and the PRO Plus version priced at $479£399.
