Sennheiser Unveils HD 490 PRO Headphones: A Game Changer for Music Production and Mixing

  • by

Welcome! Sennheiser has officially introduced their new HD 490 PRO headphones.

Sennheiser has introduced the HD 490 PRO headphones. According to Sennheiser, this new line of headphones provides excellent clarity, comfort, and durability, and has been designed to meet the needs of contemporary music production.

The HD 490 PRO series guarantees a neutral frequency response, delivering a lively and genuine sound reproduction throughout all audio frequencies with a range of 5Hz – 36.1kHz (-10dB). These headphones come with two sets of ear pads, created for producing and mixing music. This functionality helps reduce ear strain and enables precise identification of frequencies in important listening scenarios.

The HD 490 PRO headphones are designed with an open-back design, neodymium magnets, and Sennheiser's low-frequency cylinder system to provide a clear and precise low end sound. These features allow the headphones to capture low frequencies accurately.

Sennheiser created these headphones with a focus on comfort, ensuring they are flexible, lightweight, and do not create pressure points, making them ideal for long studio sessions. The Open-frame Architecture used in the HD 490 PRO series by Sennheiser helps to decrease resonance and lower total harmonic distortion (THD).

The headphones come with a plug-in called Dear Reality dearVR MIX-SE, which uses spatial audio technology to create a virtual mixing environment that replicates the acoustic qualities of different real-world mix studios and locations when using headphone monitors.

The HD 490 PRO Plus model comes with a 3m cable, an extra headband pad, and a carry case as additional accessories.

There are two options in the HD 490 PRO series – HD 490 PRO and HD 490 PRO Plus. Both options come with the HD 490 PRO headphones and accessories like a 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm adapter, 1.8 m cable, mixing and producing ear pads. The HD 490 PRO Plus also includes extra items like a headband pad, a 3 m cable, and a case.

The Sennheiser HD 490 PRO headphones are currently on sale, with the PRO version priced at $399£349 and the PRO Plus version priced at $479£399.
