Sennheiser Unveils HD 490 PRO Headphones: A Game-Changer for Music Production and Mixing

  • by

You have arrived at the announcement of Sennheiser's new HD 490 PRO headphones.

Sennheiser has introduced the HD 490 PRO headphones, which are said to provide excellent clarity, comfort, and reliability. These headphones were designed specifically to meet the needs of today's music production industry.

The HD 490 PRO series guarantees a natural and accurate sound reproduction without any distortion, covering a wide range of frequencies from 5Hz to 36.1kHz (-10dB). These headphones come with two sets of ear pads that are tailored for producing and mixing music. This design helps reduce ear fatigue and enables precise identification of frequencies during critical listening tasks.

The HD 490 PRO headphones feature an open-back design and utilize neodymium magnets and Sennheiser's unique low-frequency cylinder system to deliver a rich and precise low end sound. These headphones are designed to capture low frequencies with accuracy and clarity.

Sennheiser created these headphones with a focus on comfort by removing pressure points and providing flexibility and a lightweight design, which is ideal for long studio sessions. The HD 490 PRO series features Sennheiser's Open-frame Architecture, which helps to decrease resonance and lower total harmonic distortion (THD).

The headphones come with a plug-in called Dear Reality dearVR MIX-SE, which uses spatial audio technology to create a virtual mixing environment. This environment mimics the acoustic characteristics of different real-world mix studios and locations when using headphone monitors.

The HD 490 PRO Plus model comes with an extra 3m cable, additional headband pad, and a carrying case included.

There are two options available in the HD 490 PRO series – the HD 490 PRO and HD 490 PRO Plus. Both versions come with the HD 490 PRO headphones and accessories like a 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm adapter, a 1.8 m cable, mixing ear pads, and producing ear pads. The HD 490 PRO Plus also includes an additional headband pad, a 3 m cable, and a case.

The Sennheiser HD 490 PRO headphones can be purchased at the moment, with the PRO version priced at $399£349 and the PRO Plus version priced at $479£399.
