Sennheiser has introduced the HD 490 PRO headphones.

Sennheiser recently introduced the HD 490 PRO headphones, which they say provide outstanding clarity, comfort, and durability. These headphones are designed to meet the needs of today's music production industry.

The HD 490 PRO series guarantees a natural and accurate sound reproduction without any coloration, covering the full range of audio frequencies from 5Hz to 36.1kHz (-10dB). These headphones come with two sets of ear pads that are tailored for producing and mixing music, aiming to reduce ear fatigue and improve accuracy in identifying different frequencies during critical listening tasks.

The HD 490 PRO headphones feature an open-back design, neodymium magnets, and Sennheiser's unique low-frequency cylinder system. These features are intended to provide a rich, precise, and distinct bass sound, allowing for detailed capture of low frequencies.

Sennheiser created these headphones to provide comfort and flexibility without causing pressure points, making them ideal for long studio sessions. The Open-frame Architecture used in the HD 490 PRO series by Sennheiser helps to decrease resonance and lower total harmonic distortion.

The headphones come with a plug-in called Dear Reality dearVR MIX-SE, which utilizes spatial audio technology to create a virtual mixing space for users. This plug-in mimics the sound characteristics of different real-world mix studios and locations when using headphone monitors.

The HD 490 PRO Plus comes with a longer 3m cable, an extra headband pad, and a carry case.

The HD 490 PRO series comes in two options – HD 490 PRO and HD 490 PRO Plus. Both versions include the HD 490 PRO headphones and come with a 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm adapter, 1.8 m cable, mixing and producing ear pads. The HD 490 PRO Plus also includes an extra headband pad, a 3 m cable, and a case.

The Sennheiser HD 490 PRO headphones can be purchased at the moment, with the PRO version priced at $399£349 and the PRO Plus version priced at $479£399.
