Sennheiser has introduced the HD 490 PRO headphones.
Sennheiser has introduced the HD 490 PRO headphones. They state that this new series provides high-quality sound, comfort, and durability, and has been designed to meet the needs of contemporary music production.
The HD 490 PRO series headphones are designed to provide a natural and accurate sound reproduction without any added coloration. They offer a wide frequency range of 5Hz to 36.1kHz (-10dB) to cover the entire audio spectrum. The headphones come with two sets of ear pads that are tailored for producing and mixing music. These ear pads help reduce ear fatigue and improve accuracy when identifying frequencies during critical listening sessions.
The HD 490 PRO headphones feature an open-back design and are equipped with neodymium magnets and Sennheiser's unique low-frequency cylinder system. This design is intended to provide a complete, precise, and clear low-end sound, as well as the capability to accurately capture low frequencies.
Sennheiser created these headphones with a focus on comfort, ensuring they are lightweight and flexible to prevent any discomfort during long studio sessions. The HD 490 PRO series features Sennheiser's Open-frame Architecture, which helps to reduce distortion and resonance for improved sound quality.
The headphones come with a plug-in called Dear Reality dearVR MIX-SE. This plug-in uses spatial audio technology to create a virtual mixing space that replicates the acoustics of different real-life mix studios and locations when using headphone monitors.
The HD 490 PRO Plus model comes with a longer 3m cable, an extra cushion for the headband, and a carrying case.
There are two options in the HD 490 PRO series – the HD 490 PRO and HD 490 PRO Plus. Each option includes the HD 490 PRO headphones, a 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm adapter, a 1.8 m cable, mixing and producing ear pads. The HD 490 PRO Plus also comes with an extra headband pad, a 3 m cable, and a case.
The Sennheiser HD 490 PRO headphones can be purchased at the moment, with the PRO version priced at $399£349 and the PRO Plus version priced at $479£399.
