  • by

Presenting the new HD 490 PRO headphones by Sennheiser.

Sennheiser has introduced the HD 490 PRO headphones, touting them as providing outstanding clarity, comfort, and durability. These headphones have been designed to cater to the needs of contemporary music production.

The HD 490 PRO series guarantees a natural and accurate sound reproduction without any distortion, covering the full range of audio frequencies from 5Hz to 36.1kHz (-10dB). These headphones come with two sets of ear pads that are tailored for music production and mixing. This design helps reduce ear fatigue and enables precise identification of frequencies during crucial listening tasks.

The HD 490 PRO headphones have an open-back design and are equipped with neodymium magnets and Sennheiser's unique low-frequency cylinder system. This design is intended to provide a rich, precise, and clear sound in the low end, allowing for accurate reproduction of low frequencies.

Sennheiser has created these headphones with a focus on removing pressure points and providing a flexible and lightweight design for comfortable use during long studio sessions. The Open-frame Architecture used in the HD 490 PRO series by Sennheiser helps to decrease resonance and lower total harmonic distortion for improved audio quality.

The headphones come with a plug-in called Dear Reality dearVR MIX-SE, which utilizes spatial audio technology to provide users with a virtual mixing space that mimics the sound characteristics of different real mix studios and places using headphone monitors.

The HD 490 PRO Plus model comes with a longer 3m cable, an extra headband pad, and a carrying case as added features.

There are two options in the HD 490 PRO series – the HD 490 PRO and the HD 490 PRO Plus. Both options come with the HD 490 PRO headphones and accessories such as a 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter, 1.8m cable, mixing ear pads, and producing ear pads. The HD 490 PRO Plus also includes an extra headband pad, a 3m cable, and a case.

The Sennheiser HD 490 PRO headphones are currently on sale for $399£349 for the basic model and $479£399 for the upgraded PRO Plus version.
