The lead singer of Sugar Ray has verified that Kid Rock's lyrics about "getting more ass" than Mark McGrath were based on truth.
The lyrics were taken from a song called "Cocky" by Rock in 2001, which was part of his album with the same title. In the specific part of the song, the lyrics mention Rock introducing himself as Kid Rock from the old school, boasting about having more money than the band Matchbox Twenty and getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath.
The question that has been around for over 20 years was finally answered recently. It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media if Kid Rock really had more success with women than Mark McGrath.
Shortly after that, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument, and made sure to mention the Sugar Ray vocalist in his post.
McGrath responded to the question with a sense of humor, confirming that the person did indeed rhyme "ass" with his last name. He clarified this through a social media platform called X.

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's challenge. It would be intriguing to see how their financial success compares, considering both bands have been successful for four decades.
