Lead singer of Sugar Ray confirms that Kid Rock's lyrics about getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath were accurate.
The lyrics in question were taken from Kid Rock's song "Cocky" released in 2001 as part of his album with the same title. One part of the song includes the lyrics: "Do you even know who I am? I'm Kid Rock from the old school. I have more money than Matchbox Twenty and I get more attention from women than Mark McGrath."
How was this question, which has been around for over twenty years, finally answered? It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media whether Kid Rock really had more romantic encounters than Mark McGrath.
Shortly after that, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should intervene to resolve the argument, and he also mentioned the Sugar Ray vocalist in his post.
McGrath responded to the question with humor, confirming that the person mentioned did indeed rhyme "ass" with his name. He made the comment through X (formerly known as Twitter).

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's other claim. It would be interesting to compare the financial success of both bands, considering they have been active for four decades.
