The lead singer of Sugar Ray has verified that Kid Rock was being truthful in his lyrics about getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath.
The words were taken from a song called "Cocky" by Rock in 2001, which was part of his album with the same title. The specific part of the song contains the lines: "Do you know who I am? I am Kid Rock from the traditional school. I have more money than Matchbox Twenty and I get more attention from women than Mark McGrath."
How was a response finally found to this question that has been around for more than twenty years? It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media if Kid Rock really had more success with women than Mark McGrath.
Shortly thereafter, Finn McKenty, a well-known YouTuber, proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument. McKenty also made sure to mention and tag the lead singer of Sugar Ray in his suggestion.
McGrath quickly responded to the question with a sense of humor. He confirmed that the person did rhyme "ass" with his last name, and he appreciated the creativity. This response was shared by the singer on X (formerly Twitter).

If you're curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's claim. It would be intriguing to see how their financial success compares, considering both bands have been successful for four decades.
