Sugar Ray Singer Confirms Kid Rock Did “Get More Ass” Than Mark McGrath: The Truth Behind the Lyrics

  • by

The lead singer of Sugar Ray has verified that Kid Rock was being truthful when he claimed to "get more ass" than Mark McGrath in his lyrics.

The lyrics were taken from Rock's song "Cocky" released in 2001 on his album with the same title. In this particular part of the song, the lyrics mention Rock introducing himself as "Kid Motherfuckin' Rock from the old school" and comparing his wealth and popularity to the band Matchbox Twenty and singer Mark McGrath.

How was this question, which has been around for over twenty years, finally resolved? It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media whether Kid Rock really had more romantic encounters than Mark McGrath.

Shortly after this, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument, and he also mentioned the Sugar Ray vocalist in his post.

Soon after, McGrath responded to the question with a good sense of humor. He confirmed that the person in question did indeed rhyme "ass" with "McGrath," and added that this should clear up any confusion. McGrath's response was shared through X (formerly Twitter).

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's statement. It would be interesting to see how their financials compare, considering both bands have been successful for four decades.
