The lead singer of Sugar Ray has verified that Kid Rock's lyrics about "getting more ass" than Mark McGrath were accurate.
The lyrics were taken from Rock's song "Cocky" released in 2001 as part of his album with the same title. In this part of the song, he says "Do you even know who I am? I'm Kid Rock from the old school. I have more money than Matchbox Twenty and I get more attention from women than Mark McGrath."
How was the question that has been around for over twenty years finally answered? It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media, "Did Kid Rock really have more romantic encounters than Mark McGrath?"
Shortly after this, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed the idea of having Mark McGrath resolve the argument, and he also tagged the lead singer of Sugar Ray in the post.
McGrath responded to the question with a sense of humor and confirmed that the person mentioned did indeed rhyme "ass" with "McGrath." This response was shared by the singer on X (formerly Twitter).

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's other statement. It would be interesting to compare the financials of both bands, considering they have been successful in four different decades.
