Sugar Ray Singer Confirms Kid Rock Lyrics Were True: Did Kid Rock Really “Get More Ass” Than Mark McGrath?

  • by

The lead singer of Sugar Ray has confirmed that Kid Rock's lyrics about getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath were accurate.

The lyrics were written by Rock for his song "Cocky" in 2001, which was featured on his album with the same title. One part of the song includes the lines: "I am Kid Rock from the traditional school, who are you?" and "I have more money than Matchbox Twenty and I have more success with women than Mark McGrath."

How was the question that had been unanswered for over twenty years finally resolved? It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media whether Kid Rock really had more romantic encounters than Mark McGrath.

Shortly after, Finn McKenty, a well-known YouTuber, proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument. McKenty also mentioned McGrath by tagging him on social media.

McGrath responded positively to the question with a sense of humor, confirming that the person in question did indeed rhyme "ass" with his last name. This response was shared by the singer on X (formerly Twitter).

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's other claim. It would be intriguing to see a comparison of their financial success, considering both bands have been successful for four decades.
