The lead singer of Sugar Ray has verified that Kid Rock's lyrics about "getting more attention" than Mark McGrath were accurate.
The words were taken from a song called "Cocky" by Rock, released in 2001 on his album with the same title. The specific part of the song includes the lines: "I don't care who you are / I am Kid Rock from the traditional era / I have a larger amount of money than Matchbox Twenty / I attract more attention from women than Mark McGrath."
How was the question that has been around for over twenty years finally answered? It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media if Kid Rock really had more romantic encounters than Mark McGrath.
Shortly after, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should intervene to resolve the debate, and he also mentioned the Sugar Ray vocalist by tagging him.
McGrath responded to the question in a light-hearted manner, confirming that the person mentioned did indeed rhyme "ass" with McGrath. This response was shared by the singer on X (formerly Twitter).

For those curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's other claim. It would be intriguing to see how their earnings compare, considering both bands have been successful in four different decades.
