The lead singer of Sugar Ray has confirmed that Kid Rock's lyrics about "getting more ass" than Mark McGrath were accurate.
The lyrics were written by Rock for his song "Cocky" from his album with the same name, released in 2001. In this particular part of the song, the lyrics mention Rock identifying himself as Kid Rock from the old school, boasting about having more money than Matchbox Twenty and getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath.
How was the long-standing question of whether Kid Rock got more attention than Mark McGrath finally resolved? It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media whether Kid Rock really received more attention than Mark McGrath.
Shortly after that, Finn McKenty, a well-known YouTuber, proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument. McKenty also made sure to mention the lead singer of Sugar Ray in his suggestion.
McGrath responded to the question with a good sense of humor, confirming that the person mentioned did indeed rhyme "ass" with his name. This response was shared through X (formerly known as Twitter).

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's other claim. Since both bands have been performing for four decades, it would be intriguing to see a comparison of their finances.
