Sugar Ray Singer Confirms Kid Rock’s Lyrics Were True: Did Kid Rock Really Get More Ass Than Mark McGrath?

  • by

Lead singer of Sugar Ray confirms that Kid Rock's lyrics about getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath were accurate.

The lyrics were taken from a song called "Cocky" by Rock, which was released in 2001 on his album with the same title. In that part of the song, the lyrics mention how the singer, Kid Rock, is from the old school and claims to have more money and success than certain other musicians.

The origins of how a long-standing question was finally resolved can be traced back to Rock Feed's post on social media. They asked whether Kid Rock had really received more attention from women than Mark McGrath.

Shortly after, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should step in to resolve the argument, and he also made sure to tag the lead singer of Sugar Ray.

McGrath responded to the question with humor, confirming that the person did indeed rhyme "ass" with McGrath. This clarification was shared by the singer on X (formerly Twitter).
