For a limited period, you can purchase SubLab by Future Audio Workshop for only $10. NUSofting has recently launched a beta version of their Glitch Pad Synth for Windows, which is available to the public for free until the end of March.
The public beta version of Glitch Pad is currently accessible for 64-bit Windows in both VST2 and VST3 formats.
Typically, NUSofting releases their plugins for both Windows and Mac operating systems. Therefore, Mac users can expect to have access to the plugins when the 1.0 version is released.
The history of the plugin can be traced back to the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch, which was first released in 2002, several decades ago.
Luigi, the founder of NUSofting, has recently redeveloped the initial algorithm and created a more advanced oscillator, leading to the creation of a brand-new VST synthesizer.
The latest edition of the software has been created using C++ programming language and can be accessed in its preliminary beta version through the developer's website, which is provided as a link below.
The initial version is completely operational and consists of 23 pre-set options.
Downloading the plugin from Luigi is incredibly convenient. It only takes one click and there is no need to provide any personal information or login credentials to obtain the Zip file.
A distinct and nostalgic sound of the Glitch Pad can be experienced through an unofficial demo available on YouTube.
The synthesizer would fit perfectly in genres like ambient music, experimental soundtracks, and video game music.
The names of the presets such as echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir give us an idea of the different styles that are represented.
At first sight, the interface of Glitch Pad appears to be overwhelming with a multitude of elements to absorb.
In terms of appearance and design, there are areas that could be improved, but considering it is a free beta version, it is understandable that there are limitations to what can be expected.
Towards the lower part of the interface, there is a keyboard and a preset selector. Above that, you will find a visual depiction of the waveform.
According to the plugin's interface, users will be able to participate in the beta for a period of two months, until the expiration date at the end of March 2024.
It is uncertain if the Glitch Pad will be available for purchase or offered for free after the beta version, as NUSofting has previously released both paid and free products.
NUSofting is offering a sale on some of their synthesizers at the moment. If you enjoy the sound of their products, it would be worth exploring their other releases.
It is currently unknown if the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period is over.

"Please mention in the title that this plugin is exclusively for Windows"… Oh, you have already done that. I appreciate it, but it's a bit too late now. The complaints from Apple users in the comment section have become an established joke within the BPB community.

There is a noticeable amount of snobbery among Windows users when it comes to discussing operating systems. It is important to acknowledge that this behavior is not limited to Mac users. Many people who claim to be indifferent to the whole OS topic are actually Windows users, and they are just as prevalent in the comments section.

This is an interesting and amusing device. It has some good features, such as the way the pitch envelope works. It would be even better if it had a low-frequency oscillator (LFO) for each destination, and more diverse shapes, including some unusual ones for improved randomness. It is possible that these suggestions are already being considered since it is in beta, but just in case they are not, it would be great to see these additions.

The Glitch Pad has the ability to produce impressive sounds! Luigi, the developer behind Nusofting, has not received enough recognition for his work. It's truly remarkable!

That's great! But I have a bit of a rant. I really miss the feature called "rewire"! I believe that if it was still available, these beginner digital audio workstations (DAWs) would be much more useful. They would be able to easily complement the DAWs we already use. It's crazy to me that as technology advances, such a useful tool is no longer available and hasn't been properly replaced. Sure, there are alternatives like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, but rewire allowed for seamless transmission and reception of MIDI and audio directly from the DAW without any issues or delays, while keeping everything in sync.
